چکیده: طرز كار درست در آزمایشگاه اهمیت زیادی دارد. در انتخاب و آموزش كلیه كاركنان آزمایشگاه باید دقت كافی مبذول شود. آراستگی، منظم بودن، پاكیزگی و برنامهریزی دقیق همواره باید مدّنظر قرار گرفته و تمرین شود. اقتصاد در مصرف مواد ایمنی خطرناك است. باید از حدّاكثر وسائل و مواد ایمنی استفاده نمود. باید به حد كافی وسائل اطفاء حریق در آزمایشگاه موجود باشد و تمام آزمایشگاهها باید نور كافی داشته ومجهز به وسائل تهویه باشند. ظروف حاوی مواد زاید باید هر روز در جای مخصوص و مطمئن تخلیه گردد.مواد شیمیائی پخش شده در سطح آزمایشگاه فوراً باید تمیز و برطرف گردد. كار در آزمایشگاه با خطرات مخصوصی همراه است. اگر آزمایشگر به فكر حفاظت شخصی و حفاظت همكاران باشد، شانس وقوع حوادث بسیار كم خواهد شد. بیتوجهی یا غفلت و بی مبالاتی هم به خود شخص و هم به دیگران صدمه میزند.هر كس ضمن آشنائی به كار خود و دقت در كار، باید تمام فكر خود را در كار متمركز سازد و برای ایجاد ایمنی احساس مسئولیت نماید. اصل مهم دارا بودن انضباط و نظافت محیط كار است نظافت وسائل شیشهای دستگاههای آزمایشی و میز كار آزمایشگاه جزء اصول كار است. در عملیات معمولی احتیاطات ایمنی كاملی را میتوان ابداع نمود. تمرین دائمی میتواند سبب بهبود کار كاركنان شود به طوری كه خطرات به حداقل كاهش یابد.باید قبل از اجرای هر عمل متوجه عكسالعمل و خطرات ناشی از آن بود. مثلاً اگر هنگام تقطیر مایع شروع به غلیان نماید و دفعتاً سرریزش كنند باید علت را در عدم وجود سنگ پای[2] خرد شده در بالن تقطیر دانست و یا اینكه سنگ پای خرد شده در مایع داغ اضافه شده است. وقتی با مقدار زیادی از مواد شیمیایی كار میكنند از حرارت دادن شدید جلوگیری كنید و ماده افزونی باید به مرور وارد محیط شود.آبی كه در حمام روغن داغ نشت میكند تولید حادثه جدّی میکند و سبب جهش روغن داغ میشود.پس دانش ایمنی در ازمایشگاه امری مهم و اجتناب ناپذیر خواهد بود...
